(1) Professional Introduction
1)The Target of Profession Fostering
The profession of the orbit traffic signal control (professional code 080802T) is a AD hoc professional of the ministry of education. To adapt to the rapid development of the rail transportation in the Yangtze river dalta, some applied and compound talents will be trained in this profession, who are of good scientific cultural quality and innovation spirit in some ways, such as planning, designing, constructing, operating and managing. According to four years’s study, the students will master some basic theorys, rail traffic control theorys and professional skills in some fields, such as the rail transit signal technology, data acquisition and processing related train operation and basic theory of train operation automatic control system. They can engage technology development, technology management and system maintenance on the fields of railway traffic information engineering and control, transportation automation, automatic control, automatic detection and so on.
2)Main Courses
The contents of course combined with the electronic information technology, communication technology, computer technology, automatic control technology etc., student’s learning focuses on the relevant basic knowledge such as railway automatic detection technology, automatic control theory, basic communication and information processing and computer applications.
Mainly including rail signal principles, urban mass transportation introduction, signals and systems, automatic control theory, communication principles, digital signal processing, automatic control of railway station signal, automatic control technology of vehicle operation, interval signal control technology of computer interlocking, UMT operational management fundamental, detection technology of city rail traffic equipment, system reliability theory, microcomputer principles and applications, DSP technology, EDA technology, embedded systems and applications, information and coding, electromagnetic field and electromagnetic wave technology on Metro and light rail control, the remote control of railway signal, automation of marshalling station system, communication and information technology on intelligent transportation, and related practice.
3)Job Prospects
This specialty has broad job prospects, because the specialty owns perfect training system and sharp features required in National Industry and there are many cities in yangtze river delta who are building subways, high-speed rails and light rails. The graduates are particularly suitable to rail transportation related departments such as railway bureau, railway designing institutes, communication signal companies, engineering companies and subway operation companies. They can be engaged in works such as scientific research, technology development and management, tele-communication engine design, facility maintenance and management, installation, construction. The graduates can also play important roles in the field of industrial automation and control, traffic information engineering, high-tech technology industry company, enterprise and public institution and the like, to work on research, design, exploiting and technical management. Students who are excellent in character and learning can continue further studies.

12. Within two years from 2013 to 2015, our department plans to contact 3 companies and research units in the form of "production" to establish stable internship practice bases.
13. We need to make the research of other university laboratory construction, and then to plan practice course from in-class experiment to the necessary equipment.
14. Our professional college students to participate in the freescale, the national competition of electronic and other kinds of competition, and will get a reward plan to account for 30% of the total number of students.
